Dr. William Joseph Bryan, age 88, died July 25, 2016 at the Phoebe Home, Allentown, PA. He was married to the late Grace (Puskar) Bryan for 60 years. He was the son of the late Ralph and Mildred (Huff) Bryan. William was born and raised in Palmerton and graduated from Palmerton High School as its valedictorian. He then went to Northwestern University for undergraduate, dental and orthodontic schools. Afterward, he served his country as a Navy dentist during the Korean War. He then settled in Allentown, where he had an orthodontic practice for over 50 years. His practice is carried on by his son, Dr. Robert Bryan. William truly cared for and loved all of his patients. Even after his retirement, patients and parents asked about him daily. He was a founding member and past-president of the Lehigh Valley Society of Orthodontists. He was an avid sports fan; he especially loved the Phillies and enjoyed his season tickets for many years. William loved to travel, and enjoyed taking his family around the world. He loved gardening and was very proud of his property.

Survivors: He is survived by his daughter; Lynn and her husband Peter Kokolus of Palmer Township, Northampton County; Sons; Billy of Brigantine, N.J., and Dr. Robert and his wife Maureen of Emmaus; Grandchildren; Pete and his wife Kim, Margo and her husband Randy, Caitlin, Aislinn, Ciara and Patrick and Great-Grandsons; Michael and Andrew.

Service: A funeral service will be held Friday, July 29, 2016 at 10 A.M. in the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton Sts. Allentown. Calling hours will be on Thursday evening from 7 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. and Friday morning from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. at the funeral home.
