Michael J. "Skip" Germano

Michael J. “Skip” Germano, 83, of Allentown, passed away November 21, 2016 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the beloved husband of Joan S. Germano; they would have been married for 54 years on December 8th. Skip was a bar, restaurant and night club owner for over 50 years. He founded the Round Table, Porterhouse Pub, Sammy Malones, Simon Meyers Tavern, R.J. Gator’s, Fairgrounds Hotel and MainGate Nightclub. He was a 1950 graduate of Allentown High School. He always put his family first, was a loving husband and a Super Dad.

He is survived by his children: Frances Moghaddam and Mehran and their children Layla and Michael of Germantown, MD; Michele Corwin and her son Eric of Lock Haven, PA; Michael A. Germano of Pasadena, CA; Jon Germano and Amy and their son Giovani of Emmaus, PA; Dominic Germano and Roxanne, of Allentown, PA.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, November 28, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the vestibule of the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena, 1825 W. Turner St., Allentown PA 18104. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am. As per Skip’s wishes, a “3 hour party” to celebrate his life will be held following the burial at MainGate Nightclub, 448 N. 17th Street, Allentown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, 1825 W. Turner St., Allentown PA 18104.
