Betty Jane D’Argenio,92, formerly of Whitehall passed away December 18, 2016 in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of Albert D’Argenio. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on October 5, 2016. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Elmer B. and Isabelle (Gehringer) Hensinger. As a young girl, Betty was active in Jordan Park sports. She was a 1942 graduate of Allentown High School. After high school, she worked for the Lehigh Valley Dairy and later the Bell Telephone Company where she was a supervisor. She participated on the Bell Telephone Girls’ Softball Team that won the city title. Along with her husband, she owned and operated the former Jordan Park Snack Shop and the former Joseph Friedman Sons, Bethlehem. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and the Allentown General Hospital. She was a member of Dubbs Memorial United Church of Christ, Allentown, where she was a Sunday school teacher and Brownie troop leader.

Survivors: Husband; son, Ronald A. husband of Debra A. D’Argenio of Laurys Station; daughters, Terry J. wife of John Gallagher of Charlottesville, VA, Karen L. wife of Frank J. Stoisits of Coplay; brothers, Elmer Hensinger of Macungie, Richard husband of Donna Hensinger of Allentown; sister, Nancy wife of David Marsh of Tarpon Springs, FL; 7 grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Jean Parton and Joyce Smartschan.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, at 10 A.M. in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th & Hamilton Sts., Allentown. Call Thursday, from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. in the funeral home.
