Marion C. L. Choke, 91, of Allentown died Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. She was the widow of Peter E. Choke. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond A. and Helen E. (Kresge) Danner. A 1943 graduate of Allentown High School, Marion received her Nursing Degree from the former Allentown Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. After graduation she answered the call to care for people at the Allentown Hospital. She served as a General Duty Nurse; became a member of the School of Nursing Faculty, serving as Operating Room Instructor and then Coordinator of Medical-Surgical Nursing IV. Following her retirement in 1988, she continued to serve on the Alumni Board. In 2014, the Alumni Association Officers and Directors conferred upon her Director Emeritus status. She furthered her education in Nursing at Cedar Crest College graduating in 1969. Marion was a member of the Calypso Chapter #163, Order of the Eastern Star and Allentown Shrine #27, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was a member of the former St. James Lutheran Church, Allentown.

Survivors: Son, Peter E. Choke, Jr. and his wife Monica of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Peter E. Choke III and his wife Jennifer of Dothlan, AL, Justin M. Choke and his wife Jennifer of Allentown, Brian J. Choke, Amanda M. Choke both of Bethlehem; great grandchildren, Alexis, Gabriel, Abigail.

Funeral Service 10:30AM Saturday in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th & Hamilton St., Allentown. Call 9:30 to 10:30AM Saturday in the funeral home.
