Sandra L. “Sandy” Hornberger, 75, of Salisbury Twp., passed away on March 17, 2017, with her husband by her side, at the VNA of St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Robert S. “Bob” Hornberger, having celebrated 50 years of marriage last June. Born on August 31, 1941 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Dorcas (Templen) Shaffer and lived in Emmaus much of her youth, where she graduated from Emmaus High School. Sandy worked as a legal secretary, most recently for Attorneys Edmund G. Hauff and Alfred K. Hettinger in Allentown, until her retirement in 2002. Sandy, a musical theater lover, was an active member of the Municipal Opera Company of Allentown (MunOpCo), with which she performed numerous shows and where she not only met her husband but other life-long friends as well.

Survivors: Surviving with her husband Bob are son Miles Hornberger, his wife Melissa, and grandson Zachary of Emmaus, and son Kirk Hornberger and his husband Mark Usher of Winthrop, MA.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 21st at 11:00 AM at the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton Sts., Allentown. A calling hour will be held on the same day prior to the service from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
