Edward T. Saba, 92, of Allentown, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the loving husband of Rosalyn M. (Sadd) Saba with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Edward started his career in 1950 in the Engineering Department of Euclid Crane Co. (later evolving into Euclid Electric & Manufacturing Co.) of Madison, Ohio; before moving to Allentown in 1955 as its Regional Sales Manager. In 1968, he founded E.T. Saba Associates, Inc. as manufacturer’s sales engineering representatives for the design, application and installation of heavy duty industrial crane controls and associated electrical equipment to the steel mills, foundries and allied industries. Edward maintained offices in Baltimore and Philadelphia with headquarters in Allentown, until retiring in 2012. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Tanas and Sophia (Plikiades) Saba. He was a 1942 graduate of Shaw High School in Cleveland, Ohio and a 1949 electrical engineering graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. Edward served as a member of the President’s Council of Purdue University and was a life member of the Purdue Alumni Association. He was a licensed professional engineer in the State of Indiana. Edward was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater of Operations under General George Patton (U.S. 3rd Army-Infantry). He was awarded the Purple Heart for his role in the Battle of Metz, France. In his profession he was a life member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, and a member of the IEEE and the ISRI industrial trade organizations. A member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Allentown, Edward was a principal benefactor in the construction of the Church, a contributor to the welfare of the Church over six decades; and served a term on its board as a financial advisor and analyst. He was a baseball coach for Allentown’s West End Youth Center in the 1960’s, the H.L. Peter Post and Downtown Youth Center American Legion Teams of the early 1970’s. Edward was the oldest active member of the Brookside Country Club for over 50 years. A 32nd Degree Mason he was a member of Jordan-Martin Masonic Lodge #673 F&AM and the Valley of Allentown Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter Consistory. The Saba family wishes to thank Edward’s very special caregivers at home (Ari, Naze and Jimmy) for their steadfast devotion to his well-being over many years. The family also wishes to extend their appreciation and thanks to the nursing and physician staff at Lehigh Valley Health Network and to the Hospice Unit for the special care given to Edward.

Saba of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, Grandchildren: David, Meredith, Paul, Brent, Andrew, Allison, Michael and Great-Grandchild: Anya
