Edith A. Transue

Edith A. Transue, 81, of Allentown, passed away suddenly on April 16, 2017 in her home. She was the wife of the late Donald P. Transue. They were married on November 6, 1971 in Braintree, MA, they enjoyed traveling the country together until his passing in 1980. Edith was employed at the Cedar Crest Target Store in Allentown since it’s opening in 2003. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Merritt and Edith (Kohllahn) Haas. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her furry nieces and nephews. She was an avid New York Giants fan and a Tony Stewart NASCAR fan. She was a great supporter of many animal and veteran organizations.

Survivors: Nephew: John D. Haas and his wife Sherry of Lehighton, Great-Nieces: Tania Haas and Laurette White both of Lehighton and a Great-Nephew: Derek Haas of Germansville. She was preceded in death by a Sister: Carol E. Haas.

A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 2 P.M. in the Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery 1851 Linden St. Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the Carbon County Animal Shelter, 63 Broad St. Nesquehoning, PA 18240.
