Philip J. Zaharchuk

Philip J. Zaharchuk, 58, died August 24, 2017 in the Good Shepherd Home, Raker Center, Allentown. Philip was born in Egypt, PA, son of Roman and Margaret I. (Gulla) Zaharchuk of Boyertown, PA. Due to a birth injury, he suffered from cerebral palsy all his life. He lived at home until 1982 when he entered the Good Shepherd Home. He was well cared for and he enjoyed his stay there. He was a fan of the Phillies and Eagles and was able to attend some games. He also enjoyed going to the movies and restaurants for lunch. It was possible for him to return home for holidays and birthday parties and members of his family visited him often at Good Shepherd especially for Christmas lunches.

Survivors: Parents, Brothers: Gregory Zaharchuk and his wife Debra of Boyertown and Daniel Zaharchuk and his wife Kathy of Lititz, PA, Sister: Ramona wife of Andrew Roberts of Boyertown, Nieces: Elena, Madeleine and Piper and Nephews: Riley and Nicholas.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, at 10 A.M. in the Multipurpose Room in Good Shepherd Raker Center 601 St. John St. Allentown. Call Tuesday, from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. in the Raker Center.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Philip’s memory to the Good Shepherd Home, 601 St. John St. Allentown, PA 18103.
