Gloria Isabel Sherry Worsley, 96, of Allentown, formerly of Summerville, SC, died October 20, 2018 in Arden Courts, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Richard S. Worsley. Gloria was employed at the Lehigh County Controller’s Office for 19 years and was a Registrar of Vital Statistics for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 8 years. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Marlow W. and Helen A. (Simons) Sherry. She was a 1939 graduate of Allentown High School. Gloria attended Moravian College in Bethlehem and Katharine Gibbs School in New York City. She was a former Republican Committee Woman for the 3rd Ward 2nd District, Allentown, served as President of the Lehigh County Council of Republican Women from 1950-1951, was Vice-Chairman of the Young Republican Women from 1951-1953 and was Vice-Chairman of the Lehigh County Republican Committee from 1955-1972. She was a member and one term corresponding secretary for the Allentown Business and Professional Women’s Club and a Past President of the Beta Omega Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Allentown. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Allentown.

Survivors: Step-Son: David Worsley of Levittown, PA, and Life-Long Friend: Janet W. Sander of Allentown.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton Sts. Allentown. Call Tuesday from 10 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home.
