Ian M. Frey

With heartrending sorrow, we share the loss of our beloved, Ian. With Ian’s presence in mind, please try your best through life, which was his familiar effort, to practice his genuine, kind-hearted, accepting, and gentle ways. Through our mindful efforts, our beloved Ian’s beautiful spirit will live on, especially within the very hearts who loved him so. He believed in life’s simple goodness and sharing this onward can be his modest, but compelling legacy. Some of his dearest life joys, comfort or talents belong(ed) in; loving his sister Zoe, writing, nature, reading books, a south eastern road trip with dear friends, Philly U, disc golf, guitar playing, skating, building snow huts, Auntie-time, Dewey Beach with Grammy & Grampy, co-worker bonding, making pierogis, Thanksgiving dinner, drawing dinosaurs, loving his Mom, loving his Dad, and yet, so much more. This special comment that Ian spoke symbolizes his heart, “The words, ‘I love you’, to me means that I understand and accept that person, as they are and as they want to be.” Ian will be missed everyday by; his sister Zoe Frey (best buddy), his parents, Stephanie Frey and Jason Frey. His grandparents, William and Patricia Ostrowski (Grammy & Grampy) and his great-grandmothers, Helen Ostrowski and Anna Mazar. His aunt and uncle Tracie Ostrowski, David Ettipio and cousin Emilia. His aunt and uncle Ric and Carol Mazar and cousin Kristen. His aunt and uncle Joseph and Mona Ostrowski and cousins Julia Ostrowski, Austin Ostrowski and Alexis Jackson. His grandmother Rene Allan and her husband Glenn Allan. His loving uncles Jeremy, Josh, and Jordan Frey. His great-grandmother Nan Gresh. His many, special, loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Ian was born on December 8, 1993, in Bethlehem, PA and passed on June 15, 2019, in Allentown, PA. Ian successfully attended Cathedral School, Central Catholic High School, and Philadelphia University. He participated in university organizations that raised awareness for the homeless, including Habitat for Humanity, Philadelphia Chapter and SHAK-A-THON (IDSA). We will always carry you in our heart, dear, sweet one. Our deepest love forever, Zoe, Mom, and Dad Family and friends will be received at the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 1601 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA 18102 on Thursday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., with a service beginning at 2 p.m., followed by an intimate gathering at Ian’s home in Allentown.
