Adela Balogh

Adela Balogh, of Allentown, 90 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children at LV Hospice on January 21, 2022. She was born in Backa Palanka, Yugoslavia, now Serbia on October 17, 1931, to Peter and Ana (Tel) Dohocky She was predeceased by Balint Balogh, her husband of 69 years, in 2019; and by her sister Lilli Stankov and brother Pal Dohocky. She emigrated to the USA in 1969 with her family. She had a varied career, working in health care, manufacturing and retired from Sodexo at Muhlenberg College in 1993. She was a volunteer at Phoebe in Allentown for many years visiting residents. She traveled extensively with her husband and family, throughout the US and abroad. She loved flower gardening, baking and was an excellent cook. She was curious about nature, science, and current events, enjoyed music, opera and art, and the many friends she made over the years. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Ibolya Balog (Harry Crapser) of Allentown, PA, son Balint Balog (Kim) of Hummelstown, PA and grandchildren Sarah Balog (Kevin Brightbill) of Coos Bay, Oregon and Alex Balog of Pittsburgh, PA. Services will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Allentown Symphony Association 23 North 6th St. Allentown, PA 18101.
