Earl B. Stanley, 82, of Allentown, passed away December 3, 2021 at the Lutheran Home in Topton, PA. He was the loving husband of Martha (Kleemeier) Stanley. They were married for 53 years. Earl spent his professional years as a teacher and a technical writer, ultimately retiring from Lockheed Martin. Born in Syracuse, New York, he was the son of Burton and Doris (Fillmore) Stanley. He was a peacetime Air Force veteran. Earl was a graduate of the State University of New York at Canton, receiving an Associate’s degree, as well as the State University of New York at Potsdam, receiving Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Earl was an avid reader who also enjoyed gardening and being a handyman. He stayed true to his childhood accomplishments as a Boy Scout and an Eagle Scout to always “Be Prepared.” He was a talented hobbyist musician, playing several instruments, including saxophone, clarinet and cello. Earl maintained a lively wit, and never met a pun that he wouldn’t hesitate to inflict on those nearby. In spite of this, his family will miss him very much. Earl is survived by his wife; two children: Margaret S. Smith of Emmaus, and Robert W. Stanley of Mechanicsburg, PA; and four grandchildren: Tyler Smith, Jamie Smith, Andrew Stanley and Aaron Stanley. Services will be at the convenience of the family.
