Jane M. Fisher Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jane M. Fisher, 73, of Tamaqua, passed away August 12, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem Pa, surrounded by her family. Born on January 2nd, 1947, in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Hahn) Miller. She graduated St. Joseph’s, Jersey City, in 1962. Was very fond of her days spent in Catholic School and went on to graduate from Sparta High School, Sparta N.J. Jane worked as a Lab Sterilization Tech at Somerset Medical Center, N.J., worked in Human Resources Payroll Dept. for Lyons Veterans Hospital, N.J., earned her Medical Assistance License and worked in Home Health Care. Jane loved music and loved to dance. She loved nature and felt most alive when she was outdoors. From the mountains to the Ocean, that was her peace. She was a fantastic cook, wrote beautiful poetry, and had an amazing sense of humor. She collected a variety of things from antique jewelry, coins, and stamps. She loved musicals, theatre, and politics. But, most of all, Jane loved her family. She was a very devoted Mother and Grandmother. Jane always put her children and grandchildren first. Teaching compassion, empathy, strength and perseverance. So down to earth and loved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. Survivors: Daughters: Shelli L. Fisher wife of Sean O’Neill of Tamaqua and Melissa Lorraine Fisher of Tamaqua, Brothers: Dennis Miller of Tamaqua, Mitchell Bilankov of Idaho and Mark Bilankov of Toms River, NJ, Sisters: Barbara Chernes of Brockton, PA, Lorraine Herr of Flemington, NJ and Beth Ann Bilankov of Toms River, NJ. 5 Grandchildren, Barry L. Bridygham 3rd, Ronald J. Bridygham, Shane P. O’Neill, Amanda J. Skelding, Joel E. Vanhorn, and 7 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Cheryl Jean Fisher. A memorial mass will be held at a later date, to be announced.
