Aurea Rodriguez Rivera With hearts full of love and gratitude, we honor the life of Aurea Rodriguez Rivera, 88, of Allentown, who passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, surrounded by her family in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Andres Rodriguez. Aurea was a devoted wife, mother, an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother, a loyal friend, and well respected within her community. Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, to the late Francisco Rivera Santiago and Bonifacia Ortiz Torres, she carried her roots with pride throughout her life. As a young woman, she served others with compassion as an LPN in Puerto Rico before beginning a new chapter in New York in 1960. There she became a talented and dedicated seamstress, working tirelessly while raising her family with strength, warmth, and unwavering love. Her faith guided every step she took. As a member of the Salisbury Spanish Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Aurea’s trust in Jehovah God and His son Jesus Christ was steadfast and resolute. Her steadfast spiritual hope was a source of comfort not only to her, but to all who knew her. To her family, Aurea was the heart of every gathering—steady, nurturing, and full of wisdom. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and deep love that will continue to shape the lives of those who were blessed to know her. She will be missed beyond measure. She is survived by: Her daughters Luz Milagro Cruz (wife of Pedro Cruz) of Garner, NC, and Lisett Young (wife of Rahmeer Young) of Northampton; her son Salomon Rodriguez and his wife Kimberly of Allentown; her brothers Gilberto, Clemente, and Tomas Rivera; her sisters Carmen Colon, Natividad Santiago, Maria Judith Ortiz, and Gladys Rivera; as well as five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
