Barbara Ann Hacker

Barbara Ann Hacker, 78, of Lower Macungie Township, passed away May 20, 2021 in her home. She was the loving wife of the late William H. “Bill” Hacker. Barbara served in many positions throughout her career including as Executive Director at Inglis Home Services, National Healthcare Consultant for NovaCare-Polaris Group, Director of Clinical Services for Presbyterian Homes, Inc., Vice President for Nursing at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Assistant General Director at Albert Einstein Medical Center (Mt. Sinai Division). Barbara was a national speaker and consultant and author of numerous healthcare publications. She received recognition and honorary awards in Nursing throughout her 50 year career. Barbara received her Master of Education from Temple University. Born in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Mervine) Hasuga. She was a member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in Easton. She was a member of the American Association of Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinators, the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management and the Sigma Theta Tau -International Honor Society of Nursing. Barbara loved to travel and enjoyed trips to NYC and Broadway Shows. She loved spending time with her family and her beloved dogs. Survivors: Daughter: Deborah wife of Jeffrey Sibel of Collegeville, PA, Aunt: Pearl Petrovicz of Kulpmont, PA, Nephews: Michael Hasuga and David Hasuga both of Harrisburg, PA and Cousins: Rosemary Noona of Elmwood Park, NJ, Charles Noona and his wife Peggy of Pennington, NJ and Basil Hashuga of Mt. Carmel, PA. A Parastas service will be held on Wednesday, at 11 A.M. in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton Sts. Allentown. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. in the funeral home. Interment will be at Western Salisbury Cemetery, Allentown.
