John A. "Jack" Jones

Mr. Absolutely Positively Fantastic- John A. “Jack” Jones, 89 of Lower Macungie Twp., passed away on October 18, 2023 under hospice care at LVHN. He was the loving husband of Joyce Y. (Schnabel) Jones for 62 years. Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Zeta M. (Mooney) Jones. A pioneer in the Spray Insulation Industry, Jack has been the President of ASI since 1964 when it was formed. Prior to starting his own business, Jack was an Insurance Salesman and served in the U.S. Army as a diesel mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and St. Joseph’s University with a BS in Political Science. Jack was a founding member of the Urethane Contractors Association and past president of Lehigh Valley Chapter of ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors). Jack served as a Board Member for the Allentown Chapter of CSI (Construction Specifications Institute) as well as being active in the Allentown Chamber of Commerce and Optimus Club. Jack loved to fish in the back bay at his house in Sea Isle City, NJ where he was a long-time member at Townsend Inlet Yacht club. He was also an avid private plane pilot with well over 1000 hours under his belt. Jack had a soul for adventure and traveled all over the world to fish, hunt and explore. He was a member of St. Catherine's Cathedral, Allentown and is a 4th Degree Sir Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Jack is survived by his wife Joyce Jones, daughter Gwyn Jones Baker and husband Matthew Baker, Son Jeffery Jones, Grandsons Nickolas and his wife Mikaila and Grandson Liam Baker and Aaron and his wife Makayla and Granddaughter Tiffany Baker. He was preceded in death by his Sister, Sister Margaret Jones, OSF A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Thomas More Catholic Church 1040 Flexer Ave. Allentown. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. in the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to: Allentown Rescue Mission or Central Catholic High School.
