Our mother was a beloved member of Gods community here on Earth. She departed this world at the age of 81, shortly after a battle with cancer, she passed away at Phoebe Nursing Home in Allentown. Her permanent home in Heaven to be with Jesus and our Almighty God… We describe her as a loving mother, she leaves behind a legacy of being an eternal beacon of love, a guiding light and a source of comfort that will be forever cherished in our hearts and memories. I can’t count the numerous cherished moments that highlighted her character and the impact she had on our lives. Mom was the matriarch who always spoke to the family about Jesus, who she loved with all her heart. She found peace and comfort in her faith. She was always charismatic in nature. I remember my wild-card days on Long Island, New York, calling mom at any hour of the day or night. Mom, I cried out, pray for me as I trembled in tears. Being born and raised into a Christian family was a gift. We all had to choose from, the right path or the wrong path. For years, I chose the wrong path, and I want to thank you mom for your unconditional love, your guidance and everything you taught me and the positive values and lessons about Jesus Christ that you have instilled in me. We will continue to honor these value and lessons in your memory by living a Christ like life that reflects values by showing love, joy and kindness to others that you have showed to us. One more thing, mom, because of what you taught me I never took my sights off Jesus. I have chosen to walk the right path with Jesus Christ, being the head and tail of everything I do. At the age of 60, mom earned her certificate for being a caregiver at Good Shepherd. Mom sang in the Zion Choral for over 20 years with some 200 people. She was a fantastic cook, a truly gifted cook, as her husband Lenny put it, a master of the kitchen. Mom loved pets; she had a favorite black cat named Squeek. Squeek was a whirlwind of energy and excitement, she was a party starter who transformed into a playful, enthusiastic greeter the moment someone walked through the door. Squeek was ready to pounce, play and always slap you high five with her paw thousands of times. Mom had a special love for Callie, my ESA dog. The most obedient loved dog on the planet. While mom would call, she would say bring Callie, don’t come without Callie. Callie is a fifty-pound black lab retriever. Mom is survived by her husband Leonard, and their children, Scott Van Dine, Kimberly Oates, Lisa Campbell and Ryan DeLong, her brother, Tim Schaeffer, and 6 Grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at the Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church 1151 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. Allentown. A calling hour will be held on Friday, from 9:30 A.M. 10:30 A.M. in the Church.
