Mary T. Chong

Mary T. Chong, 62 years old, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Bethlehem, PA. She was surrounded by all of her loving siblings and niece Julia. Mary was born in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of the late Luis A. Chong and Vivienne Anne (Juco) of Avon, CT. She is survived by her siblings - Ana, Louis (Patricia), Michael, Catherine and Paul (Mairead); nieces and nephew - Vanessa, Thomas, Emma, Julia, Jessica, Lillian and Alison; an aunt and several cousins. In addition, she had many good friends at the Good Shepherd Home in Bethlehem and Allentown, PA. Mary received her early education in Ridgewood, NJ, and then moved on to the Matheny School, Peapack, NJ and Crotched Mountain School, Greenfield, NH. She was a long-time resident of the Good Shepherd Home, 41 years, at both the Raker and Bethlehem, PA facilities. Mary lived a remarkable life and was an inspiration to everyone she met in spite of her physical challenges. She loved all things Disney, including her trips to Disney World, holiday celebrations, shopping, using her computer, gourmet meals, Starbucks Mocha Frappuccinos, and all things chocolate. Mary had a beautiful laugh and good sense of humor. She had great perseverance and determination for all things she did. Her impact on her family and others will remain an important part of her memory and legacy. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Good Shepherd Home for all the years of their loving care. Also, many thanks to the ICU and Hospice staff at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg for their help in the recent weeks. Funeral services were privately held.
